A hefty breakfast will be enjoyed in the morning and at 8:00 am, set off for 5-6 hours to Kibale National Park. This park is situated in Kabarole district, western Uganda and holds 13 primate species making it a true primate capital of the world. It is most famous for its unmatched chimpanzee trekking adventures, also a major highlight of this itinerary. Today, you will be driving from Entebbe via Mityana-Mubende to Fort Portal City but lunch will be offered at the restaurant in Fort Portal.

Set off for the morning chimpanzee trekking session which starts at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre with briefing. Learn about the dos and don’ts for chimpanzee tracking and you will begin your search for chimpanzees at 8:00 am in your group of 6 people. The park will be present to take you through the forest and explain to you the different behaviours and body gestures of chimpanzees.

A full hour will be allocated for you to enjoy in the presence of the chimpanzee community. Start trekking back after taking pictures of chimps, and at the lodge have lunch till in the afternoon, when you will be visiting Bigodi swamp. A guided swamp/nature walk includes spotting plenty of primates, birds and other mammals living in the Bigodi wetland.

After breakfast, begin driving from Kibale to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – BINP, pass via Kasese. Your road trip includes a short game drive at Ishasha sector where tree-climbing lions will be spotted. Continue up to your pre-booked gorilla safari lodge in or around Bwindi.

Following a hot cup of tea or coffee, join the rest of the guests for a briefing about gorilla trekking regulations. At 8:00 am, set off for an actual search for mountain gorillas, an adventure that goes for 2 to 6 hours but this may depend on the location of gorilla families. All guests will be guaranteed 1 (one) hour of a close encounter with mountain gorillas in the wild.

Return from exploring mountain gorillas and get your gorilla trekking certificate. You will continue to the lodge for relaxation and lunch break till afternoon when you will be accompanied for a cultural tour of the Batwa community.
