Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

Meet your guide (Place to be advised) and private road transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park, a drive lasting around 2.5hrs -3hrs drive. The journey is mainly on tarmacked good quality roads until the final section.
Explore the park by a safari with your guide. This safari gives you a full day with beautiful scenery, viewpoints and great wildlife like buffalos, elephants, antelopes as elands, Topi, Masai giraffes, monkeys, savannah birds, civets, leopards, hyenas, and cats as serval cats and lions.
Check in and lunch at the lodge.
Afternoon enjoy a sunset boat trip on the lake as a result you will be able to see and get closer to some of the water loving animals you should expect include hippos, and crocodiles. Occasionally you may see some buffaloes, elephants and antelopes on the shores which would have come to drink water.
Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge – 1x Standard deluxe room (BB)

Day 2: FULL DAY SAFARI IN THE PARK- TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI.

Early morning breakfast
Explore the park by a safari with local ranger in the southern part. This safari gives you a full day with beautiful scenery, viewpoints and great wildlife like buffalos, elephants, antelopes as elands, Topi, Masai giraffes, monkeys, savannah birds, civets, leopards, hyenas, and cats as serval cats and lions. You will be accompanied by the local ranger who is knowledgeable about the flora and the fauna that is found in the park and will be explaining more on your safari.
Enjoy your lunch at one of the picnic places in the park.
Afternoon transfer back to kigali

Additional Notes

Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is not required for travelers. Yellow Fever is a current risk in Rwanda due to the outbreaks taking place in the region. It is recommended that all travelers over the age of 9 months receive this vaccine. This is also important for travelers who will continue to other EAC countries since Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya all require yellow fever vaccinations as well. If you are coming from, or recently, within 24 days, travelled to, a Yellow Fever endemic country then a Yellow Fever vaccination will be requested at least 10 days before arrival in Rwanda.
