Detailed Itinerary

  • Your adventure begins with your arrival at Kigali International Airport (TBA)
  • The VIP Meet & Greet team will provide fast track and assistance including handling  VISA and luggage support at the airport. 
  • Meet your experienced guide who will be your trusted companion throughout your entire adventure and receive a comprehensive on the exciting days ahead. 
  • Check-in at the hotel for your restful nights.

  • Morning breakfast.
  • Explore Kigali based on your wishes, visit Kigali genocide memorial/ Nyamata church and genocide memorial, coffee masterclass, Visit Inema Art centre with a presentation of Rwandan Art, fashion, jewelry, souvenir shops, visit a typical Rwanda coffeeshop, visit a fantastic sanctuary with great birdlife and hear about the project: safe the crowned cranes.

  • After breakfast you will have a transfer to Nyungwe national park
  • Pass by the formal capital of Rwanda; Huye. You will stop and visit the former King’s Palace and enjoy lunch there (own account)
  • Proceed and check in at your lodge
  • Afternoon enjoy the beautiful view from the lodge

  • Early morning breakfast
  • Transfer to the park office for briefing and meet your local ranger
  • Morning go deep in the forest to see the tropical waterfalls as you enjoy the nature,
    trees, flowers (especially orchids) and birds.
  • Lunch at your Lodge
  • Afternoon hike with local ranger and enjoy the 60m long canopy walkway

  • Transfer to the Park office for briefing to prepare for your hike
  • Chimpanzee trekking with local ranger and porters to spot the chimpanzee in the forest

  • Morning walk with local guide along the shores of Lake Kivu to Volcanoes National Park (called Congo Nile trail) and pass local villages and get the feeling of the daily lifestyle.
  • Your guide and vehicle will be in contact with the local guide; as soon as you want to stop walking, you can proceed by vehicle.
  • Check in and enjoy lunch at your lodge
  • Late afternoon visits the Ellen DeGeneres / Dian Fossey campus in Musanze for a round tour and learn from the behavior of gorilla’s and the work of Dian Fossey
  • Overnight at One & Only Gorilla’s nest – 1x Double Forest lodge king rooms (FB+)
  • Wake up at sunrise and drive the short journey to the park headquarters where briefing, porters and tea and coffee will be given before starting the adventure into the forest.
    •  We offer complementary Local porters who can help with the guide to complete the gorilla tracking experience. Who will assist you with your daypack, and give you hand when the path is slippery, steep, or irregular.
  • Your guide will drive you to the starting point: Tracking can be between 90 minutes and the whole morning depending on what family group is assigned. You will spend one hour with the gorillas – sometimes moving around to stay with the gorillas or following them. The guide will ensure you are in the best spots to take the most beautiful pictures and experience the breath-taking experience properly.
  • Return to your lodge for your delicious lunch and leisure time.

  • Check out your room and you can store the luggage at the lodge.
  • Transfer to the Park headquarters for meeting with your local ranger and briefing.
  • Hike with local ranger through the forest to spot golden monkeys and other primates and the variation of the forest, flowers, and birdlife.
  • Enjoy lunch at the lodge.
  • Afternoon private scenic boat trip on the twin Lakes with breathtaking views of the Volcanoes mountains with a blend of Rwanda’s culture and community experience on the smallest island on Lake Ruhondo. Enjoy your sundowner drinks along the coastline of this stunning surrounding.
  • Overnight at One & Only Gorilla’s nest – 1x Double Forest lodge king rooms (FB+ including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with meals and two activities per person per day)

  • Have a road transfer to Akagera National Park (3,5-4 hours’ drive)
