You will be met by your safari guide from WanderLux Safaris. Get briefed about this special package and start off your day with a Kigali city tour. On a city tour, your main focus will be exploring the Kigali genocide memorial centre –learn what took place during the 1994 Rwanda genocide. After, you will be visiting craft centres and Kigali’s biggest market –Kimironko.

After touring Kigali, enjoy lunch at a classic restaurant. You will then connect to Volcanoes National Park using a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle, arrive early and check in at the pre-booked gorilla safari lodge for leisure, dinner and a night stay.

D-day for up close with a family of mountain gorillas in the wild and today, you will be expected to wake up early to prepare. Have a delicious breakfast and later, proceed to Kinigi where other visitors will be present for a briefing about gorilla tracking rules/guidelines. The park official will also use this time to allocate gorilla families to each group comprising 8 visitors.

The actual trek through the Volcanoes National Park forest begins at 8:00 am with company of an experienced park guide. The whole trek may go for 2-6 hours, inclusive of one hour for up close and personal with mountain gorillas, and photography.
