Detailed Itinerary
- Your adventure begins with your arrival at Kigali International Airport (TBA)
- The VIP Meet & Greet team will provide fast track and assistance including handling VISA and luggage support at the airport.
- Meet your experienced guide who will be your trusted companion throughout your entire adventure and receive a comprehensive on the exciting days ahead.
- Check in at the hotel for your restful nights.
- Overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel – 1x Double Prime room (BB)
- Morning breakfast and check out
- Scenic transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest. Along the way to Nyungwe Forest stop off in the Cultural Heritage Corridor of Rwanda and visit the King’s Palace and The Ethnographic Museum and proceed with a transfer to Nyungwe national park (5-6 hours’ drive)

- Proceed and check in at your lodge.
- Afternoon enjoy the beautiful view from the lodge.
- Overnight: One & Only Nyungwe house – 1x Double Nyungwe King room (FB)
- Early morning breakfast
- Transfer by your guide to go chimpanzee tracking in the Nyungwe Forest. After a short briefing by your guide, walk through stunning tea plantations before entering the thick luscious forest. There are over 13 species of monkey found in the forest and excellent birding opportunities with over 100 species of butterflies and the occasional chameleon.
- The excursion can last from one to four hours but you will definitely hear the
chimpanzees from the moment you enter the forest. Once found you will stay for an hour with the chimpanzees, watching them play, fight and eat in the atmospheric forest. - Return to your hotel to relax and refresh.
- Afternoon hike with local ranger and enjoy the 60m long canopy walkway

- Walk with local guide along the shores of Lake Kivu (called Congo Nile trail) and pass local villages and get the feeling of the daily lifestyle.

- Your guide and vehicle is in contact with the local guide; as soon as you want to stop walking, you can proceed by vehicle.
- Proceed with the transfer to Musanze (Volcanoes National Park)

- End of the afternoon: Have a meeting with the gorilla doctor at the lodge to better
understand the multifaced work being done to protect the primate. (gorilla’s, chimpanzees, and other primates in Rwanda) - Overnight at Singita Kwitonda Lodge – 1x Double Suite (FB, including premium wines, spirits, and liqueurs (excluding French Champagne).
- Wake up at sunrise and drive the short journey to the park headquarters where briefing, porters and tea and coffee will be given before starting the adventure into the forest.
- We offer complementary Local porters who can help with the guide to complete the gorilla tracking experience. Who will assist you with your daypack, and give you hand when the path is slippery, steep, or irregular.
- Your guide will drive you to the starting point: Tracking can be between 90 minutes and the whole morning depending on what family group is assigned. You will spend one hour with the gorillas – sometimes moving around to stay with the gorillas or following them. The guide will ensure you are in the best spots to take the most beautiful pictures and experience the breath-taking experience properly.
- Return to your lodge for your delicious lunch and leisure time.

- Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your international flight – 2.5 – 3 hours

Shanga is a social enterprise, which employs people with disabilities to create unique and highquality handmade jewelry, glassware and homewares incorporating recycled materials. There are different workshops to choose from to join, based on your preferences: glassblowing, making necklace, bracelet, masai beading or a short Swahili language lesson.
